Temperatures on Monday will hold below mid-May normals across Texas and theSouth Central region, sunshine notwithstanding.Midwestern high pressure wafting a cooling flow into the region from the northand east will be key to suppressing daytime temperatures by at least 5 to 10degrees versus normal.

In Dallas, for instance, Monday's high of 72 degrees will come up 11 degreesshort of the normal high for the date.

Oklahoma City will reach 69 degrees, or about 10 degrees below normal.

Normally sticky Houston will top out shy of the 80-degree mark, even though thenormal high is in the mid 80s.

While the weather will be bright and pleasant, it will lack rain, which mostTexas and neighboring areas badly need following months of drought.
