Robert Walter Peterson

Peterson, Robert Walter 94, of Deerwood and formerly of Fridley, passed away on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at Fairview Northland Hospital in Princeton, MN. A memorial service will be held 2PM on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at Salem Lutheran Church in Deerwood, MN. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services at Salem Lutheran, and interment will be in the Salem Lutheran Columbarium in Deerwood, Minnesota. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter. Robert was born on April 14, 1926 to Walter and Hazel (Shaff) Peterson. Robert married his wife Lorraine in 1949, and together they had one child. He worked for Northern Pacific Railroad for 18 years and 18 years as a cooling and heating specialist for Northern State Power in Minneapolis. Robert enjoyed tending to his lawn and spending time outdoors. He loved spending time with his grandchildren, and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Robert is survived by his son Gary (Diane) Peterson of Elk River; and grandchildren Timothy (Sarah) Peterson of Eagan, MN, and Kari (Bridger Smith) Peterson of Maple Grove, MN; sister Vivian Gibbs of Verndale, MN; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his wife, Lorraine, and his parents. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to your local food shelf.
