A quick-thinking grandmother who helped police take down her suspected scammer is being recognized for her heroic efforts. Retired 911 dispatcher Jean Ebbert, 73, says she got a strange phone call from a man claiming to be her grandson last Thursday, telling her he was in jail and needing her help to pay his $8,000 bail.
