Vince Tuss

Vince Tuss is a producer working on the StarTribune.com home page most evenings. Before that, he was a copy editor and a night police reporter.

Underwood grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from the University of Minnesota with a journalism degree. After college, she was a camp counselor at Camp Tamarack, St. Croix State Park. She lives in Plymouth with her husband and son, and spends free time gardening, traveling, going Up North to the family cabin, movies, checking out the newest taproom, playing Bunco and keeping up with pop culture.

Jessie Van Berkel

She has worked for the paper since 2014, primarily covering state government and politics. She has also reported on the city of St. Paul and the Twin Cities' southern suburbs. Jessie previously wrote for the Sarasota Herald-Tribune, The Post-Crescent, The Seattle Times, The Oregonian and MinnPost. She graduated from the University of Minnesota. Outside of work, she can usually be found planning her next trip, outdoor adventure or cooking project.

Torey Van Oot

Van Oot covered state and national politics for more than a decade, contributing to outlets ranging from The Sacramento Bee to InStyle to The Washington Post. When she's not writing and tweeting about politics, Van Oot enjoys running, getting outdoors and checking out Minnesota's many craft breweries. She's told she has terrible taste in TV. Van Oot, who grew up in Vermont, lives in Minneapolis with her husband and a sweet but poorly behaved golden retriever.

Vancleave joined the Star Tribune in 2013 and graduated from the University of Minnesota, where he now teaches photojournalism. His award-winning work includes investigations into abuses in Minnesota's elder care system, working conditions for people with disabilities, access to medical marijuana and immigrant experiences. Despite being a life-long Minneapolitan, Vancleave enjoys exploring Minnesota's rural gems and escaping to our state's natural wonders.

Vondracek has reported on prairie dog lawsuits in the Black Hills to federal education policy in Washington D.C. A native of Faribault County, Minnesota, he's a graduate of the University of South Dakota, holds an MFA from Hamline University, and taught college English for many years in Winona and St. Paul. His debut collection of poetry, Rattlesnake Summer, was published in 2020, and his memoir, Dancing with Welk, in 2022. He lives in Minneapolis with his wife, Carrie, and daughter, Rosie.
