Little change is expected in the upper-air pattern across the southern Plainsand Deep South over the next five to seven days. A ridge of high pressure willdominate the weather pattern, resulting in unseasonable heat and little to norainfall.Temperatures will rise well into the 90s with some locations climbing above thecentury mark between Monday and Friday of next week. The core of the heat willset up from western Texas into Arkansas, Louisiana and Mississippi. A scorchingsunshine will make it feel even warmer, along with high dew points from centralTexas eastward.

The only escape from the heat will be the beaches where sea breezes will helplimit the heat.
