RIP Dickey Betts: The Allman Brothers Band's original second lead guitarist (as well as singer and songwriter), who took over the main duties when bandmate Duane Allman was killed in a motorcycle crash in 1971, died Thursday morning at his home in Florida at the age of 80, according to a post from his family on Betts' Instagram page. Here's a clip of Betts performing the Allmans' instrumental, classic-rock staple "Jessica," which he wrote as a tribute to the two-finger guitar style of jazz great Django Reinhardt, with his eponymous band in 1984.
