COLUMBUS, Ohio – Columbus held off a Saints rally Wednesday, winning 7-6 in Huntington Park in a Class AAA game.
The Saints trailed 7-1 after four innings but cut that to 7-6 after six innings. They had the tying and go-ahead runs on in the ninth but couldn't get a hit.
Brent Rooker hit three doubles for the Saints.
The Saints bullpen of Juan Minaya, Andrew Vasquez and Yennier Cano didn't allow a run over the final 5â…“ innings, giving up three hits while striking out 10.
The bullpen hasn't allowed a run over its past 12 innings.
