A Pacific storm dipping unusually far south will bring rare summer rain toCalifornia this week.Tuesday, as the storm nears the coast, the leading edge of rain will spreadashore north of San Francisco.

The low pressure will head inland Wednesday, triggering showers and a fewthunderstorms across the northern half of the state.

The upcoming rain would not be the first for June, 2011. Rain, some heavy, fellthroughout northern and central California early in the month during anotherunusual storm.
