      Rare tornado batters northern Michigan town

      A tornado barreled through Gaylord, a city of about 4,200 people roughly 230 miles northwest of Detroit around 3:45 p.m. It damaged multiple homes and downed trees and power lines that blocked roads, authorities said.

      Church service held for Buffalo shooting victims

      The event, called "Prayer for Buffalo: Healing the East Side," was held in the aftermath of the racially-motivated mass shooting Saturday at a supermarket that left 10 people dead.
