Kane, Timothy Lee died unexpectedly of natural causes at his home in Las Vegas, NV on January 22, 2024. Tim was a hard-working and respected professional in the technical entertainment industry. Born April 13, 1955 (Minneapolis) to Michael John Kane and June Elizabeth Kane, he was educated in Edina. Proudly a Boy Scout, he graduated from Edina HS, class of '73. Tim volunteered for both the Minneapolis and Edina Police Depts. He studied criminal justice at UW- Platteville before relocating to Las Vegas in 1980 to join the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Dept. Early in his NV law enforcement career, Tim worked in Security for several hotel casinos and as a Security instructor. He was also the owner of an alcohol awareness company, NVABC. A lifelong learner, Tim was a self-taught Egyptologist who often corrected accredited professors. In April 2022, Tim realized a life-long dream of visiting Egypt and its major archaeological sites. At his death, he was a Master Electrician. Tim worked on scenery for the NV Ballet's Nutcracker, Manilow/ Paris LV Hotel & Casino, the movie Paul Blart Mall Cop 2, T-Mobile Arena, and as a stage electrician for Lady Gaga- as well as many other Las Vegas entertainment projects. Tim was a union member with Teamsters in Minneapolis and IATSE, Local 720 in LV. Survived by his mother, June (Ecklund) Kane; two brothers Michael John Kane III (Joan) and Jon Thomas Kane (Michele); two daughters Elizabeth Serna and Kennedi Hutcherson; two grandchildren Elisia and Braden Danley; and nephew Jon Arthur Kane - all of Las Vegas. Also, first cousins Mary Mullane Karpinen (Minnetonka), James Mullane (Shakopee), Patty Mullane Petersen (Ham Lake), and Dana Prettyman Marevich and Kathy Prettyman Lorenzen (both Los Angeles CA). Celebration of life services will be held on SAT, February 24, 2024 at the La Paloma Funeral Home, 2551 S. Fort Apache Rd, Las Vegas, NV 89117 - 3:00- 5:00 PM.
