Anderson (Storrs/Erickson), Barbara Lew was born on July 3, 1933 in Grand Rapids, MN to Jessie Berry and Clarence Lighthizer. Barbara passed away peacefully on August 16, 2022, surrounded by beloved family and caregivers at Lake Minnetonka Shores, Presbyterian Homes. Barbara grew up in Hill City, Minnesota where she loved spending time with her grandparents, Nettie and Lew Berry. She moved to Le Center, Minnesota where she attended school and graduated in 1951. Barbara enjoyed lifelong friendships with her girlfriends from Le Center and cherished their many get-togethers over the years. Barbara moved to Tonka Bay where she raised a family, made many neighborhood friends, and worked for the Bloomington Police Department, the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office, and the Hennepin County Workhouse in Plymouth, Minnesota. Barbara married the love of her life, Vernon Anderson, on August 16, 1975, and they celebrated many, happy decades together. Barbara is preceded in death by husband Vernon Anderson, mother Jessie Winetta Berry, father Clarence Lighthizer, and stepfather Arthur Storrs. Barbara is survived by daughter Katherine Papapietro (John), son Bradley Erickson (Amy), granddaughters Amanda Yoshinaga (Alex) and Elizabeth Shore (Trent), along with many great-grandchildren. For those wishing to express sympathy, the family would appreciate donations to support the incredible caregivers at Lake Minnetonka Shores, Presbyterian Homes. We simply cannot thank them enough. A celebration of life will take place at 1:30 pm on October 8th, 2022 in the chapel at Lake Minnetonka Shores, Presbyterian Homes. A reception downstairs at Lord Fletchers will follow the ceremony. Private interment at a later date at Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community Cemetery located at 14625 Prairiegrass Dr NW, Prior Lake, MN 55372.
