Anderson, Rev. Ramona

The Reverend Ramona (Mona) Anderson completed her earthly journey on May 10, 2022. She was born in 1942 to Oscar and Alice Erickson in Sandstone, Minnesota, grew up in Sturgeon Lake, and attended high school in Willow River, Minnesota. She earned her bachelor's degree from Augsburg College and a master of divinity degree from Luther Seminary.

Throughout her life Mona was a trailblazer, serving as the first female congregational president at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Circle Pines, Minnesota in the late 1970's. After raising two sons, she completed college as a working adult and went on to seminary to become a Lutheran minister. She was ordained in 1994 at Redeemer Lutheran Church in White Bear Lake, where she first worked as the church secretary. Her initial call was to shared ministry with Lyngblomsten and Holy Cross Lutheran Church. She subsequently served at Arlington Hills Lutheran Church, Mamrelund Lutheran Church, and St. Mark's Evangelical Lutheran Church in North St. Paul. After retiring from St. Mark's, Mona served as interim pastor at ELCA congregations within the greater Twin Cities area.

Mona delighted in time with her grandchildren from the time of their birth through their adulthood, and she took great pride in her family. She was preceded in death by her parents Oscar and Alice Erickson, and her sisters Eve Smith, Bess Gagnon, and LaVina Erickson. Survived by her son Bob Anderson (Debbie) and granddaughters Rachel and Kara Anderson, her son Ron Anderson (Andrea Quanbeck) and grandchildren Z and Mari Quanbeck, and her partner Douglas Hendrickson.

Mona's family and friends are grateful for the loving care and comfort she received at the Lyngblomsten Care Center and from her Allina hospice team.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 10:00am-11:00am, followed by a celebration of life at 11:00am at the Lyngblomsten Chapel, 1415 Almond Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55108. Masks and screening are required at the facility.
