Rehberg, Marilyn Alice (Doyle) of Robbinsdale, passed away peacefully on January 25, 2021, at Sunrise of Golden Valley surrounded by her family. Marilyn was born December 6, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois to Earle and Esther Doyle. She graduated from Carl Schurz High School and Wright Junior College, and then worked at the Wrigley Company in downtown Chicago. On February 23, 1953, she married Heinz Rehberg at St. Bartholomew's Church. They shared many adventures with their wonderful family at their homes in Chicago, New Jersey, and Robbinsdale. Marilyn worked for the Robbinsdale School District where her kind soul and bright smile filled the district office for more than 35 years. Marilyn loved to dance and was an accomplished competitive ballroom dancer. Her generosity shone through in everything she did. The door to her home and to her heart was always open to countless neighbors, family, and friends who could be sure of a big hug, a delicious meal, and a caring listener. Holidays were particularly special, overflowing with people and food, love and laughter. She always had a joke, a song, or a story to share. Her love for animals was equally deep, and she treasured both the wildlife around her home and her many special dogs. Besides her husband, Heinz and infant son, Tommy, Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents, her brother, Jerry, and beloved sister, Pat. She is survived by daughter Karla, son Bob (Janet Kampa), loving nieces, nephews, and other family as well as innumerable friends whose lives she enriched with her warmth and love. A funeral Mass will be held at the Basilica of St Mary on a day special to Marilyn, St Patrick's Day. Contact Bob or Karla for details. We will gather together this summer to celebrate a life well lived with friends and family, stories and laughterand maybe a cold Bud Light. In lieu of flowers and to honor her love for dogs, donations to Safe Hands Rescue (safehandsrescue.org) would be appreciated. Gearty-Delmore 763-537-4511 gearty-delmore.com
