Ruehle, Gerard "Jerry" of Eden Prairie, MN died peacefully at home on December 14, 2020. He was born in Bird Island, MN on April 23, 1927 to Ruben and Cena Ruehle. Jerry served with the Bloomington (MN) Police Department from 1956 to 1989, retiring as captain. He served in the US Army from 1944 to 1946, overseeing German military prisoners held in liberated concentration camps. Jerry is preceded in death by wife Barbara, with whom he was married for 60 years, and brothers Lorenz Ruehle and Ruben Ruehle. He is survived by brother George Ruehle, sister Nancy Sullivan, children Michele (Bill) Coppage, Steven (Leslie) Ruehle, Dawn (Tim Hiller) Frey, Jeffrey (Kjersti) Ruehle, Cynthia (Ron) Schroeder, Joan Hancock, Heidi Swenson, Francine (Marc) Nosal, 25 grandchildren, and 29 great grandchildren. Funeral and interment at Fort Snelling National Cemetery are pending. Memorials may be made to Second Harvest Heartland.
