Anderson, Darel of Minnetonka. Survived by his devoted wife of 72 years, Lois. Best dad in the world to Gayle Thomas and Gretchen (Jeff) Olson. Much beloved Bapa to Greg (Tori), Jeff (Kristi), Kirk (Jayme), Krystle (Chris) Krusmark and Jillian (Leon) Thomas. Loving Big-Bapa to Piers, Isla, Natalie and Lauren. Also survived by siblings, Darwyn (Sharon), Donalee (Dan) Wells and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by son, Gregory, parents Axel and Verna Anderson, siblings Delphi, Duane, Darlene, and Dallas. Darel was born at home on the farm during a blizzard in December of 1927. He graduated in 1945 from Marshall High School in Minneapolis and was hired as an office boy by Leslie Paper Company retiring 45 years later as president of the company. A highlight of his career was to transform a 100% family owned business to a 100% employee owned company. He was a quick witted, gifted artist, talented woodcarver, devoted family man, and long-time member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Darel was a savvy investor who worked hard to achieve the American dream. Darel will be interred at the Fish Lake cemetery on August 1. The family will celebrate his long and interesting life at Gethsemane Lutheran Church on August 10th. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to The Gethsemane Memorial Foundation.
