Beaupre, Janet Ruth (Olson) 95, died of Covid-19 at Abbott Hospital, Minneapolis, on May 30, 2020. She was the much-loved mother of Terry (Melinda) Solberg, Tim (Cindy) Solberg, Wendy (John) Posselt. She will be dearly missed by her children, step-children Sue (Gary, dec.) Herlickson, Kathy (Tom) Silkett, Lisa (wife of stepson, Tony, dec.), and Jane (Bob) Mosher, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Preceded in death by husband Art, brothers Allan Olson and Fred Olson. In addition to children and step-children, survived by her brother Martin Olson, sister-in-law Betty (Allan) Olson, nieces and nephews. She was a resident at Covenant Living, Golden Valley, and formerly Sun City, AZ, Mt. Vernon, WA, Kansas City, KS, Hopkins, MN, and Renville, MN. Janet was born to Amanda and Fred I. Olson, on the family farm in Renville, MN. After high school she attended the Minneapolis School of Business. She worked at Campbell Mithun Advertising in Minneapolis while her first husband Phillip Solberg was deployed overseas during WW II. She went on to be a radio personality, notably with "Jan's Daily Diary," broadcast in the Northfield, MN area. After her divorce, she worked as a secretary at IDS in Minneapolis. When her second husband Lloyd Pflueger was transferred to Kansas City, she obtained her real estate license and also worked for United Telephone. When Lloyd passed away, she became reacquainted with long-time friend, Art Beaupre who had recently lost his wife Betty. They were happily married and settled in Mt. Vernon, WA and then Sun City, AZ. When Art died, Janet eventually moved back to Minnesota. She loved travel, reading, painting, square-dancing, and adventures. After Art died, being "feisty," she drove their 24 ft. motorhome from Minneapolis to Sun City by herself at age 84. She enjoyed playing Bridge, Rummikub, and socializing with her many friends. Her sense of humor and faith in God sustained her throughout her long life. In her memory, do what Janet did every day: "I smile whenever I see someone. That wakes up the smile in them."
