Anderson, Virginia "Vickie" Our mother, Virginia "Vickie" Anderson, 91, of Wayzata, passed peacefully on March 14, 2020 at Little Hospice of Edina, having held each of our hands that day as she blew out her last breath and joined Dad in heaven with Jesus. Preceded in death by our father, Vincent Anderson, Mom was the last of our family's generation of aunts and uncles. Survived by us daughters Martha (Tom) Reis, Audrey (John) Fox, Nancy Anderson, Joan (Andy) Powell; grandchildren Erin (John), Emily (Joe), David, Nelson, Isaiah, Elliot (Macy), Clayton, Griffin, Lily, Ryker; great-granddaughters Hailee, Gabrielle, Ella, Lyla; 17 nieces and nephews; the Vermooten's of Capetown, South Africa - Diane, Graham, Ryan, Shane (Bianca). Mom was born in Minneapolis. She attended Southwest High School there and William Woods College in Missouri. She grew up spending summers at Camp Hilloway in northern Minnesota and in Kentucky with relatives of their family friend, Uncle Gene. She worked as a dental hygienist before marrying Dad in 1953. A blind date was the first chapter of a beautiful and vibrant 60 year marriage. Known to many as Vic n' Vin or V & V, Mom and Dad were recognized by their welcoming smiles, laughter, sincerity and thoughtfulness with everyone they encountered. Mom had a variety of interests and enjoyed many activities: she was a group leader for Bluebirds and Camp Fire Girls, a master cook, she enjoyed experiencing ethnic restaurants, camping with family, traveling abroad with Dad, playing bridge and drinking coffee with friends, calligraphy, flower arranging, standing watch for hours as we swam in the lake and had the gift of hospitality, welcoming many into her circle of love and friendship especially our beloved cousins when they came to visit. Mom and Dad created a wonderful home environment to raise us. After Dad's death, Mom moved to Folkestone in Wayzata and developed beautiful friendships with numerous residents and staff, serving as a welcome ambassador to many. Shortly before her death, Mom lived at Havenwood Memory Care in Minnetonka. Although her time there was brief, Mom was loved by the staff. Mom was well loved, loved well and will be missed by many. Because of current circumstances, funeral services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, we would prefer donations to Little Hospice, 7019 Lynmar Lane, Edina, MN 55435. Thank you to everyone who has had an enormous impact on our mom's life - Martha, Audrey, Nancy and Joan.
