Cold is still gripping the Northeast today. With more sunshine and slackeningwinds, however, it will not feel as harsh along the Eastern Seaboard.High temperatures will be near freezing from New York to Boston with mid-30sfrom Philadelphia to Washington, D.C. Enough of a westerly breeze will blow tomake it feel another 5-10 degrees colder at times, but today will still feelless harsh than recent days. Across the interior Northeast, highs will only bein the 20s.

Later in the week, a lessening of the chill will unfold with East Coasttemperatures topping out at 40 degrees to at least southern New England byThursday afternoon.
