The pocket of cold air that held temperatures significantly below typicalApril values across the Midwest on Tuesday will shift eastward today. The coreof the cold will be centered over the eastern Great Lakes and mid-Atlantic'sinterior. Afternoon temperatures in most cases will fail to reach the 50-degreemark.The cool air will also spill into the mid-Atlantic's Interstate 95 corridor.

Roughly 10 degrees will get shaved off Tuesday's highs. The warmth on Tuesdayhelped ignite severe thunderstorms from Washington, D.C., to New York Cityduring the afternoon and evening. The lack of warm air today in this corridorwill prevent nothing more than isolated non-intense thunderstorms fromrumbling.
