The victim was identified as Martin D. Plaisted, 60, of Hibbing. The wreck in Itasca County occurred about 4 p.m. Saturday in Nashwauk Township, the State Patrol said.
According to authorities, Plaisted was heading south in a ditch along Hwy. 65 north of County Road 8, roughly 15 miles west of Hibbing, when he hit an elevated spot and rolled over. The accident trapped him in water beneath his ATV.
