The Great Lakes snow blitz continues. Friday, the bands of heaviest snow werein Chautauqua and Cattaraugus counties of western New York, and also in Oswegoand Lewis counties, which are just east of Lake Ontario. Erie County innorthwestern Pennsylvania was also picking up some pretty good bursts ofsnow.Friday night, the most intense snow bands will stay in about the same places,which means more hefty accumulations for some. Keep in mind that the heavy snowbands are very narrow, less than 10 miles wide. Yet within those streamers ofintense snow, there will be more blinding whiteouts.

Note that the New York Throughway from exits 59 to 61 remains closed due to theextreme weather conditions.
