Much of Florida has been enjoying unusual warmth over the past day, and thiswill be the case again Tuesday, especially over central and South Florida.Afternoon temperatures will climb into the 80s across the region with some newrecord high temperatures possible.

Farther north, however, the weather will turn foul on Tuesday, as much coolerair coming from the north clashes with the warm air to the south. This willlead to a large area of rain and thunderstorms along the Gulf Coast and upthrough the eastern Carolinas.

Even though severe thunderstorms are not anticipated, heavier downpours couldlead to some minor flooding across the region as the ground is still fairlysaturated from an abnormally wet autumn.
