Soaking rain will break out over the mid-Atlantic on Sunday night and earlyMonday. From here, these downpours will spread widely over New York and NewEngland on Monday through Monday night.Widespread rainfall will be 1-2 inches over the Northeast, including theheart of the I-95 corridor. Local rainfall will exceed 3 inches. This rainfallwill be enough for urban and small stream flooding.
In northern New England, especially in Maine, rainfall together withsnowmelt and ice jams could extend the flood threat to rivers.
