Eden Prairie reaffirmed its status as the state's top boys' swimming team with a dominant team performance in Saturday's Maroon and Gold Invitational at the University of Minnesota Aquatic Center.
The defending Class 2A state champions turned the Gold Division -- the elite bracket in the four-division meet -- into a team showcase. The Eagles scored 708 points, nearly double that of runner-up Minnetonka, which scored 391.
The Eagles swept all three relays and won three individual events. Aaron Greenberg won the 50 freestyle and dominated the 100 breaststroke and Bryce Boston cruised in the 100 butterfly.
They placed at least one swimmer in the top six in every swimming event (Jordan Greenberg finished eighth in diving) with two second-place and four third-place finishes.

With the conclusion of the World Under-18 Championships, in which the Team U.S.A. women took the silver medal -- losing to Canada 2-1 in overtime in Sunday in Helsinki, Finland -- some of the west metro's top teams will get back at full strength as their stars rejoin their high school teams.
