A dramatic cold blast will reach into the southern Plains today.Temperatures will be 20-40 degrees colder, including in Oklahoma City. Strongwinds gusting between 40-60 mph will add to the chilly feeling.
Meanwhile, South Texas will stay very warm today with highs well into the80s and 90s and a decent amount of sunshine. A gusty breeze, persistent dryweather and the warmth will actually create a fire threat through the RioGrande Valley today. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor activities thatproduce sparks, because the winds could rapidly spread any fire thatstarts.
