Edina took down another of the metro area's top teams in boys' basketball on Tuesday, defeating Apple Valley 71-66.

Apple Valley is No. 1 in Class 4A. Edina beat Cre­tin-Derham Hall, ranked No. 2 in Class 4A, on Thursday.

Edina spread the scor­ing around as four play­ers scored in double dig­its. An­ders Nel­son led the group with 20. Charlie Fisch­er and Jack Mid­dle­ton both scored 14.

Tre Jones led the Eagles with 40 points.

Delano 84, St. Paul Central 70: Keegan O'Neill scored a game-high 35 points to lead the Tigers past the Minutemen. Calvin Wishart scored 32 and leads the metro area with an average of 35.8 points per game. Daevonte Davis had 24 to lead Central.

Eden Prairie 71, Minnehaha Academy 48: The Eagles, ranked No. 8 in Class 4A, ended the Redhawks' unbeaten run. Last week Minnehaha Academy, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A, had wins over No. 3, Class 4A Park Center and No. 1, Class 4A Apple Valley.

Girls' basket­ball

Eastview 62, Lake­ville North 59: Lauren Jen­sen banked in a three-point­er for the Pan­thers to force o­ver­time in a match­up of high­ly ranked teams in Class 4A. Meg­an Walstad fin­ished with a game-high 16 points to lead the Lightning, No. 2 in Class 4A. Emma Carpenter and Mar­i­ah Alipate both scored 14. Ke James scored 15 to lead the Pan­thers, No. 4 in 4A.

Hopkins 95, Coop­er 68: Paige Bueckers scored 20 points to lead the Royals, ranked No. 1 in Class 4A, past the Hawks. Raena Suggs add­ed 17 points. Kierra Wheel­er scored 19 points for Coop­er.

Stillwater 69, Wood­bury 56: Sara Sca­li­a scored a school-re­cord 37 points to lead the Pon­ies past the Royals. Alexis Pratt had 22 points. Ra­chel Hakes led the Royals with 22 points.

Boys' hock­ey

Ea­gan 4, Eastview 3: The Wild­cats and Lightning matched each oth­er goal for goal in the first two pe­riods. Midway through the third, Drew Wil­son scored for Ea­gan, his se­cond goal of the game.

Farmington 4, Sha­ko­pee 3 (OT): Josh Ask scored the win­ning goal for the Tigers less than three min­utes into o­ver­time. Mason En­right scored a goal and had two as­sists for Farmington. Ben Tischleder had a goal and an as­sist for the Sa­bres.

Buf­fa­lo 15, Cam­bridge-Isanti 3: The Bi­son were led by Jake Braccini, Ben Klein and Treyton Welch, each with a hat trick. They combined for 16 points. Kee­gan John­son had two as­sists for the Wild­cats.

Girls' hock­ey

Blake 3, Benilde-St. Mar­ga­ret's 2 (OT): Mad­e­line Weth­ing­ton's pow­er-play goal clinched the win for the Bears, ranked No. 2 in Class 2A. Blake re­mains un­de­fea­ted at 11-0-1. Sara Mc­Cla­na­han had a goal and two as­sists to lead the Bears, in­clud­ing an as­sist on Weth­ing­ton's goal.

South St. Paul 9, Has­tings 2: Mackenna Emery and Ella Reyn­olds both achieved hat tricks to lead the Packers past the Raiders. Brynn Sexauer add­ed two more goals.

Coach­ing mile­stone: Bloom­ing­ton Jef­fer­son boys' hock­ey coach Jeff Lind­quist reached 600 ca­reer vic­to­ries with the Jagu­ars' 8-0 vic­to­ry over Has­tings on Sat­ur­day. Lind­quist, who has also coached at Red Lake Falls, Dev­ils Lake (N.D.), Far­go South (N.D.) and Blake, took a ca­reer re­cord of 600-311-42 into the Jagu­ars' game against East Ridge on Tues­day. Jef­fer­son won 3-2.
