Severud, Peter Harold "Pete" 75, of Elbow Lake, MN, on February 5, 2017 arrived at his celebration with his Lord Jesus Christ. Pete was born June 10, 1941 in Minneapolis, MN. Pete was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents, his parents Kenneth T. Severud and Helen S. Severud (Ingvaldson), and sister Susan M. Severud. Pete is survived by his two brothers, Robert (Jean) Severud and James (Michelle) Severud; Pete's affectionately referred to "My Three Sons", Kenneth (Becky) Severud, Michael Severud, Daniel (Jenny) Severud; granddaughters Meredith, Makenzie, Diem, and Maci; great-granddaughter Avaia, his "little sunshine"; many special nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Pete gave in subtle ways, often making contributions to food shelves on Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. Pete loved two dollar bills and dollar coins and gifted them as a reminder of how unique and special each and every person was to him. He was an avid sports fan who celebrated the day he was introduced to split screen high definition television and 24 hour sports channels on satellite as he was always cheering for a Minnesota sports team or the underdog. Pete also loved a good pot of coffee and spending time outdoors camping and especially fishing with his boys on Lake Pomme de Terre. A private family "social hour" will be held during major league baseball's fall classic at Pete's special request. He also wanted to thank the amazing men and women, his "Angels on Earth", who provided such outstanding care during his stay in the Prairie Ridge Hospital (Elbow Lake, MN) and his extended stay at Barrett Care Center with hospice care provided by Knute Nelson. Pete spent much of his childhood and summers in Grant County and happily retired there where he had great friends and so many wonderful memories. It's also where he found peace. Memorials are appreciated and preferred to Grant County Food Shelf. Condolences: EricksonSmithFH.com
