Grimm, Paul William 49, of Savage, Minnesota, died Monday, January 16, 2017, at University of Minnesota Medical Center following a short illness. Celebration of life gathering will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Brosh Chapel and The Avacentre in Cedar Rapids, IA, located at 2121 Bowling Street SW, where the American Legion Moomey-Vogel Post 727 will be performing military honors at 1:30 p.m. There will be a private burial at a later date. Paul was born February 26, 1967 in Cedar Rapids, the son of Delbert Dean and Goldie Jane (Bell) Grimm. He spent his early years in Cedar Rapids, graduating from John F. Kennedy High School with the Class of 1985 before joining the United States Marine Corps. He was honorably discharged in 1989 & returned home for several years, while serving in the US Naval Reserve until 1993. He later moved to Minnesota, where he has since resided. In 1991, Paul met the love of his life, Terri Edwards and they began their life's journey together. They were married September 30, 2000 in Cedar Rapids. Paul was an avid gamer. He enjoyed online gaming and especially Magic the Gathering. He loved football, both the Hawkeyes and the Vikings. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Paul is survived by his wife, Terri, his mother and step father, Goldie and Nathan Chesmore of Cedar Rapids; his father and step mother Delbert and Nettie (Lee) Grimm of Cedar Rapids; brothers Dean Otto (and Heather Haas) of Cedar Rapids, Mike (Tara) Grimm, of Strawberry Point, William (Dawn) Grimm, of Waterville, Ohio; a sister, Rose Grimm, Cedar Rapids; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, cousins and many great friends. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elwyn and Bernice (Spicer) Bell, and Harold and Edith (Guingrich) Grimm; a brother Elwyn Paul, a sister Deanna Kay, and a step mother Donna Kay (Powlishta) Grimm.
