Lambesis, Stan Aristotle Peter ("Stan") Lambesis 96, has joined our loving Creator at 6AM Tuesday, December 2, 2019 in his home in Phoenix, Arizona. Stan was born on November 20, 1923 in the Great Depression in Chicago, Illinois to Peter and Persephone Lambesis. He volunteered for duty in the US Army and served in Europe during WWII just like his father who was severely wounded while serving in the US Army during WWI. He married his loving wife of 32 years, Suzanne Buchen, on December 24, 1950 who preceded him in death on May 18, 1982. Stan is survived by his son, Nicholas (Nick) Lambesis and Nick's wife Vicki Lambesis and four sons: Christopher, Nikos, Timothy and Michael and six grandchildren. Stan was a longtime resident of Minneapolis and later Rancho Santa Fe, CA. He worked at Town and Country Club in St. Paul for 40 years as the Auditor and was active in the Minneapolis Rotary Club. He was a shining example of the Greatest Generation. He loved his family, hard work - sometimes working two and three jobs - and was the person most likely to help out other family members in need but stingy about spending money on himself. He also loved sports and while in Minneapolis, he went to Gopher and Viking games regularly with his good friend Arnie Kunde and later Charger games with Terry Lucas when he lived in the Rancho Santa Fe. There is a graveside ceremony at 11 AM on December 12th at Lakewood Cemetery in Minneapolis and will be attended by Father George Dokos. The family is planning a Celebration of Life event sometime in January in Phoenix, Arizona. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Greek Orthodox Church at 3450 Irving Ave South, Minneapolis MN 55408 USA.
