Alice Jean (née Sandrock) Bengtson

Bengtson, Alice Jean née Sandrock aged 86, peacefully passed away on October 31st, 2019, after a long healthy life. She was preceded by her parents, John and Ruth Sandrock, her sister, Lucy Hierstein, brother, Edwin Sandrock, and ex-husband and good friend, Wayne Bengtson. She is survived by her children: Valerie (Geoff) Pahl, Kevin (Kathy) Bengtson, Kirk (Lynnette) Bengtson, Dwight Bengtson, Linda (Bridget) Bengtson; ex-daughter-in-law Mary Bengtson; brother, Austin Sandrock; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. Alice was born and raised in Ft. Madison, Iowa. She worked in the Hopkins school district for 20 years, but her toughest job was single-handedly raising five children through their teenage years, while surviving with her sense of humor and sanity intact. She is loved by all who knew her. Her friends knew her to be a true lady and a dear friend, and her children knew her to be the best mom in the world. She will be greatly missed by all. A celebration of life and open house will be held between 1-5pm on Saturday, November 9th, 2019, in the community room of Majestic Green: 13633 Van Buren St. NE, Ham Lake, MN 55304.
