San Antonio – Maya Moore and the Lynx both heated up in the third quarter Friday night.

Moore surpassed 3,000 career points, scoring 18 points as the Lynx routed San Antonio 78-61 at the Freeman Coliseum largely on a 19-0 run shortly after halftime.

Moore scored 10 points in the pivotal third quarter, which began with the Stars up by a point. By the time it ended, the Lynx had outscored them 25-9 to build a 62-47 lead.

The victory ended the Lynx's two-game losing streak and gave the first-place team in the West a 4-0 regular-season sweep of the Stars. In each of those games, the Lynx (19-8) held San Antonio (7-20) under 40 percent shooting.

Moore's milestone came on a three-pointer with 4 minutes, 4 seconds left in the third quarter, a three that gave the Lynx a 50-40 lead. She also had seven assists and six rebounds. Those rebounds moved her ahead of Tamika Raymond for second place on the franchise's all-time list with 1,034. The two were tied.

"I thought we played with a great pace, great energy," Moore said. "After cleaning up our offense from the first half to the second half, I thought we had a really great flow."

Two Lynx players had double-doubles: center Sylvia Fowles had 16 points and 12 rebounds while point guard Lindsay Whalen had 12 points and 10 assists. Anna Cruz — starting for Seimone Augustus, who didn't make the trip after injuring her right foot in Wednesday's loss to Washington — added 14 points.

Rebekkah Brunson, the fifth Lynx starter, had nine points and 11 rebounds.

Jia Perkins led San Antonio, which shot 33.8 percent, with 16 points.

"I've got really, really, good leaders and they get re-centered" after halftime, Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "They understand what happened and how to fix it."
