Kenzie Neisen of New Prague Golf Club shot a closing 67 on Wednesday to win the Minnesota Women's State Open by five shots. She had a 36-hole total of 139 at Hillcrest Golf Club in St. Paul.

Neisen, who will be a sophomore at Oklahoma State in the 2015-16 school year, won the Women's State Amateur last week. She is the first golfer to win the State Amateur and State Open in the same year. Last April she won her first college tournament, the Big 12 Championship.

"This year has been amazing," Neisen said. "I hope to keep building off of it and learning from it. One day at a time — one shot at a time."

Next Neisen will compete in the U.S. Women's Amateur, starting Monday at the Portland Golf Club.

Lisa Grimes of Alexandria Golf Club was the State Open runner-up with a second-day 70 for a 144. She was the defending champion and a four-time winner.

Sarah Burnham of Rush Creek Golf Club shot a 1-under 71 to tie for third place with Marisa Toivonen of Red Wing Golf Club at 148.
