SARASOTA, FLA. – This spring wasn't perfect for Jose Berrios. It didn't need to be.

The Twins' All-Star righthander wrapped up his spring camp by allowing three runs on four hits in 4 2/3 innings in the Twins' 8-7 victory over Baltimore at Ed Smith Stadium, and while he concluded Grapefruit League play with a 4.43 ERA, Berrios declared himself ready for his next start — on Opening Day.

"For sure. My mindset is going to be different. More aggressive on the first pitch," Berrios said. His spring numbers, he said, are the result of focusing on health and his changeup, and he considers both to be excellent.

"I feel strong every day," he said. "We've been working with the changeup, and I threw a lot of good ones today. That's what we've wanted."

The Twins rode a pair of four-run innings to victory, one highlighted by Jason Castro's two-run homer, the other by Max Kepler's three-run shot. Marwin Gonzalez, on the other hand, struck out four times, bringing his spring average to .115 (3 for 26) with 13 strikeouts.
