Gophers, Badgers battle for No. 1

Preview: The No. 2 Gophers (21-2-1, 11-2-1-0 WCHA) split an October series at No. 1 Wisconsin (20-2-0, 10-2-0) back in October. And while oftentimes when these teams meet, there's a WCHA or NCAA trophy up for grabs, this weekend's series at Ridder Arena is for six points in the conference standings and the top spot in the rankings. Both games can be streamed on BTN Plus.

Quotable: "Every time we play Wisconsin, there's something big on the line, whether it's a national tournament or chance to get to the Frozen Four or conference tournament or conference points. … It's just going to be one of the battles both on Friday and Saturday that both teams kind of circle on their calendar because it's probably going to be the best games of the year." — Gophers coach Brad Frost.

By the numbers: Wisconsin redshirt junior goaltender Kristen Campbell leads the nation with a 1.14 goals-against average. She also sports a .930 save percentage and four shutouts.

Perfect goalie: Gophers sophomore goaltender Alex Gulstene is the only netminder with a perfect win percentage, having won all 15 games she has played this season.
