Some questions and answers with East Ridge's Justin Pahl:

Most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Last Friday. We were playing our rival Woodbury. With four seconds left, I made a go-ahead three-pointer to win the game by one.

First basketball memory: Playing on a mini hoop in my basement during the winter.

How important is basketball?

Basketball is a passion of mine. [It] has taught me important life, people, and leadership skills that will help me in the future.

Three vital parts of pre-game preparation: Two pairs of Nike socks, listening to music and eating Egg McMuffins.

Staying in shape during the offseason: For me, there is no offseason since I play AAU basketball and work out daily to keep my wind up.

Prized basketball possession: My 1,000th point ball because I am the first to reach this accomplishment in East Ridge history.

One small tip before a big game: Never forget to do the little things.

What team really motivates you? Woodbury, because they are our rivals. [It] is always close scoring and very physical.

One sacrifice during the season: Going to bed earlier.

Cannot resist: Chinese food, because the taste and smell is too irresistible.

Biggest inspiration? My dad. He has always been there, shooting hoops, watching tapes and giving advice to me on all aspects of the game.
