They have only 25 Champions Tour starts between them, but Mark Calcavecchia and David Frost are showing their peers how to get it done. The two matched scores again Saturday in the second round of the 3M Championship, shooting 6-under-par 66s a day after turning in a pair of 64s. They take a two-shot lead into Sunday's final round, over John Cook, David Peoples and Kirk Hanefeld. So far in 2010, 11 of the 15 events on the Champions Tour have been won by the leader or co-leader heading into the final round. Only Cook has emerged victorious on the Champions Tour among the top five players. Cook has won four times since turning 50 in 2007. Early-morning rains softened the TPC Twin Cities greens even more Saturday. In all, 47 players posted subpar rounds, two more than during Friday's round.

He's only there for the King Chase Anderson has been to Bay Hill and Augusta National to see Arnold Palmer play. But try as he might, the 35-year-old from Minnetonka never had gotten Arnie to sign an autograph. Saturday that drought ended. Anderson was first in line to get Palmer's signature in the 3M Championship expo tent, showing up more than two hours before Palmer's scheduled 10:30 a.m. autograph session. "I didn't want to wind up in the back of the line," Anderson said with a shrug. At first, door security thought Anderson was there early to meet Chi Chi Rodriguez and Lee Trevino for their 9:30 a.m. signing. "I didn't want those guys," Anderson said, no offense intended. "I'm just here for [Palmer]."

Q The difference between Rounds 1 and 2?

A I hit it closer. I made four [birdies] in a row to go 5 under at the turn and had more chances on the back nine, just never really took them.

Q Is that just golf?

A Definitely. I mean, I had [17] two putts [in Round 1]. It doesn't matter how good you play, if you have that many two putts, you're not going to do very well. And even after today, there's room for improvement.

Q You been catching many jokes about how you belong on this tour because of your last name?

A People are just starting to get to know me. I've had a few people in shopping centers or at the airport come up to me. But it's going to be a long time before I'm well-known.
