• The Lynx lost to Washington on the road (77-69 on Aug. 16) and at home (79-61 on Aug. 19) and fell to 18-8.
• Losses at Phoenix (79-67 on Aug. 23) and New York (81-68 on Aug. 28) left the Lynx with just one victory in five games.
